A Coordinated Control Method for Direct Drive Permanent Magnet Synchronous Wind Turbine Based on VSG Control

At present, wind power stands as a significant part of the global renewable energy portfolio, and enhancing the stability and quality of its energy output has become a hot topic in research. This paper starts by reviewing the current progress in research related to wind power-energy storage systems and virtual synchronous machines (VSG). Building on this, the article proposes a VSG inertia and damping coordinated control strategy that takes into account damping ratio constraints during different stages of disturbance. The design philosophy, control model, and stability analysis of the strategy are described in detail. The analysis has shown that, compared to fixed parameter control, the maximum rate of frequency change during disturbances is reduced by 40%, the power support response speed is increased by 18.6%, and the time for frequency recovery adjustment is shortened by 20.7%. The effectiveness of this coordinated control method has been verified through simulation experiments. The results demonstrate that the method can significantly enhance the output stability of the wind power system and strengthen the adaptability and flexibility of the electric grid.
