A Control Strategy for a Fully Isolated Universal DC Bus-Based AC/DC Energy Exchange System Applicable in Multiple Scenarios

To improve grid capability in integrating and managing distributed energy re-sources, ensuring cohesive operation across generation, grid, load, and storage, thereby boosting load regulation and capacity to assimilate new energy sources. A versatile, fully isolated universal DC bus-based AC/DC energy exchange system for application in various scenarios was developed. This paper explores the system topology and control strategies, tailored to the specific characteristics of each port application. It introduces startup control strategies for the energy converter and coordinated control strategies for interface devices, enhancing seamless grid integration and operation. Validation of the designed topology and control strategies through PSCAD simulations confirmed that the multi-port energy exchange system power control strategy effectively facilitates power sharing and achieves system power balance across various operating conditions, demonstrating significant flexibility, stability, and reliability in energy management.
