Intelligent Fabrication of IoT Assisted Smart Voice based Wheelchair Controlling System for Physically Challenged People

Using speech recognition and a joystick, this study presents an autonomous wheelchair. For physically impaired individuals without control over their hands, a voicerecognized wheelchair provides a seamless experience. Individuals afflicted with conditions such as paralysis, polio, or amputations caused by accidents require an artificial means of locomotion. We designed a wheelchair that responds to the disabled person’ s spoken commands for movement in an effort to alleviate their suffering. To ensure that no one other than the user may give it a command, the speech recognition module will first store the disabled person’ s voice commands before utilizing them. One critical technology that will usher in a new age of human-machine interaction is speech recognition. The use of voice recognition technology to control wheelchair movements might thereby alleviate their concerns. By utilizing the smartphone as a go-between or interface, this may be made a reality and made more efficient. To provide quick and error-free communication between the hardware unit and the server end, the proposed work integrates the logic of the Internet of Things (IoT). In order to assess the efficacy of the suggested method, this study introduces a novel approach termed IoT Smart Voice Assisted Wheelchair (IoTSVW) and crosses-validates it with the traditional model known as Mobile Application based Wheelchair Control (MAWC). An application that can manage graphical instructions and software that can identify voice are both included into this system’ s interfaces. The chair can also be controlled using this application. This system employs a microcontroller circuit from an Arduino kit, DC motors to control the wheelchair’ s mobility, and ultrasonic sensors to identify obstacles in the path.
