Implementation of IoT for Fire Protection System in Unitary Air Conditioners

With the increasing global temperatures and climate fluctuations, air conditioning has transitioned from a luxury to a necessity in daily life. In the Indian market, room air-conditioners dominate, offering a broad range of affordable products from various brands. While these systems contribute significantly to human comfort and productivity, the neglect of electrical and fire safety features poses a potential threat to both human safety and property. This paper addresses the critical issue of fire hazards in unitary air conditioners and proposes a solution through the implementation of a modified fire protection circuit. By enhancing the electrical and fire safety features of these systems, the aim is to mitigate the risk of fire incidents and safeguard human lives and property. Additionally, the paper explores the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) devices to alert occupants in real-time in the event of a potential fire, providing an extra layer of safety and responsiveness. Through this research, the proposed modifications seek to strike a balance between the increasing demand for air conditioning and the imperative need for robust fire safety measures. The paper aims to contribute to the ongoing discourse on sustainable and secure HVAC systems, fostering a safer environment for individuals and businesses alike.
