Accuracy-Increasing and Vulnerability-Reducing Improvements in Solar Power Systems’ Glare Analysis

Solar power plants (SPP) are one of the energy resources that are efficient in terms of renewable energy and have a widespread installation tendency. These systems, along with the observers at airports tower, can have a negative glare effect on land and aircraft drivers. In this study, the advanced GPA simulation tool (GPA-A) is introduced by adding accuracy increasing and negative impact reducing features to the GPA (Solar Glare Analysis) tool, which was previously developed to examine the deteriorating glare effect. The GPA-A tool includes line of sight control compared to the previous version, as well as location and size determination capabilities of physical obstacles that can be applied to prevent negative impact. The advantages of the developed interaction analysis tool over GPA have been demonstrated through simulations.
