Photovoltaic System for Pulse Charging of Battery Power Supply of Sensor Devices in Greenhouses

For remote measurement of meteorological quantities in greenhouses and in livestock buildings, the use of energy-independent sensors is appropriate. To provide local supply voltage, low-output photovoltaic panels and rechargeable batteries can be used. In this article, a new method of converting the DC energy of the solar panel into AC and then again into DC is studied, with the possibility of dosing the amount of electric charge needed to charge the battery. The conversion of DC energy from the photovoltaic panel to an AC one is carried out by a sequentially switched on single-polar rectangular pulse generator, a bandpass filter and a parallel resonant circuit. The parallel resonant circuit consumes a minimum amount of energy at resonance, but provides a current of much greater value for generating charging pulses for the battery. The basic equations describing the processes of electrical energy conversion are derived. The results of the experimental study of the bandpass filter and the resonance circuit as well as the parameters of the current pulses for charging the accumulator are presented. The possibility of adjusting the amplitude value of charge pulses was investigated.
