Virtual Smart Mirror as a Personal Trainer using Machine Learning

People often struggle to maintain a consistent workout routine due to a lack of motivation, accountability, and guidance. Traditional personal trainers can be expensive and may not fit into everyone's schedule. Additionally, people may not feel comfortable working out in public spaces or gyms. This paper presents the development of Smart Mirror as a personal trainer that uses artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to create flexible and affordable solutions for individuals seeking guidance, motivation and personal workout plans. The smart mirror is aimed to act as a virtual personal trainer that provides real-time feedback and guidance during the workout, enhancing the overall performance and user experience. In this research work, computer vision techniques and machine learning algorithms work in synergy to build interactive design that can eliminate the need for a traditional personal trainer. System efficacy is proved via real-time experiments where individuals' engagement is empowered in home workouts with accuracy.
