Comparison of Network's Performance by Applying Integrated Services and Differentiated Services Quality of Service Models

In this paper different quality of service (QoS) models were applied to compare their improvement to the performance of the network. Integrated services and differentiated services QoS models were implemented in three scenarios of a simulated network. Then parameters related to the operation of the network like, jitter, latency, and packet loss were calculated. The comparison conducted has shown that the differentiated services model has had a significant effect on improving the network's performance by reducing latency to 92 msec and jitter to 0.75 msec.
