Experimental Investigation on The Performance of Solar Cooker (Medium Size) Under Derna City Climate Conditions

Energy consumption is increasing as a result of industrialization and population growth. It continues on to explain that new technologies for renewable energy, including solar energy, are being developed to fulfill this growing demand. It also highlights the parabolic solar cooker as one of the primary varieties of solar cookers, highlighting its capacity to quickly boil water and cook food at high temperatures. The cooker opto-thermal ratio (COR) is a performance measure based on the Hottel-Willier-Bliss (HWB) equation, which can be determined using the paper's recommended experimental single-step test. This concentrator cooker was constructed from several components, including steel, aluminum foil, and an outdated satellite dish. The thermal performance analysis of the concentrator cooker was evaluated by calculating the cooker opto-thermal ratio (COR). The cooker opto-thermal ratio and maximum achievable fluid temp were 0.18 and 208°C, respectively. The Parabolic solar cooker helps reduce food preparation energy costs because it consumes no energy. Thus, developing countries like Libya can greatly benefit from parabolic solar cookers.
