Development of a Decentralized Application for Managing Food Supply Chain Based on Blockchain

The olive oil sector in Tunisia, although prosperous, faces major challenges such as counterfeiting and irregular product quality. This paper proposes the development of a decentralised application based on blockchain technology to guarantee the traceability of Tunisian oil throughout the supply chain. Blockchain offers an innovative solution by ensuring transparency, data immutability and decentralisation, thus eliminating problems of trust and verification. This key concept will guide our design and development approach, aiming to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, minimise risk risks, and provide a rewarding experience for all elements involved. The envisaged application will not only help to build confidence within the supply chain, but will also help to enhance the value of Tunisian olive oil on national and international markets.
