Plug-and-Work edge collaborator design for customised manufacturing

In order to improve the flexibility and adaptability of the customized production line and meet the user’s demand for customized products, this paper proposes a devise scheme and achievement programme of the plug and work edge collaborator for customized manufacturing. Firstly, the requirements of the collaborator are analyzed and the design framework is proposed. Then, the information model construction methods of different granularity devices from three perspectives of structure, function and behavior are introduced in detail, and the modeling is realized by AutomationML data format. Then collaborator hardware is selected and model conversion code, protocol mapping and logic mapping code, and service discovery and registration code are written to have the ability of model self-awareness, automatic configuration and automatic code generation. Finally, the plug and work functional are verified on a simulation platform. On the basis of the device information model, the plug-in edge collaborator designed in this paper can automatically perceive the surrounding environment of the manufacturing site and realize the plug-in and production without intervention.
