Optimization strategy for variable cycle engine control plan based on improved group search algorithm

The fuel consumption rate is one of the key control parameters for aircraft engines. In order to simultaneously optimize the fuel consumption rates at multiple cruise points for variable cycle engines, this paper proposes an improved particle swarm optimization algorithm. Under the premise of ensuring the safety constraints of variable cycle engines, the fuel consumption rates of the engine are optimized offline for multiple steady-state operating points, including both subsonic and supersonic conditions. Based on the optimization results, the original control schedule of the engine is refitted and adjusted, resulting in a new control schedule table. This enables the online scheduling of optimized control plans for different operating conditions, ensuring the optimal fuel consumption rates at multiple steady-state operating points. Numerical simulation experiments demonstrate a decrease in fuel consumption rate by 15.12% at a certain subsonic cruise point and by 2.4% at a certain supersonic cruise point.
