Research on Autonomous Charging Technology of Mobile Robots for Warehouse Environment

This paper addresses the issue of autonomous charging for mobile robots in a warehousing environment. We propose an improved Dynamic Window Approach (DWA)-based path planning algorithm and integrate infrared positioning technology to achieve automatic alignment with charging stations. By optimizing the DWA algorithm, the robot can efficiently and safely plan charging paths in complex environments. The improved algorithm shows advancements in real-time performance, adaptability, and multi-objective optimization compared to traditional DWA algorithms. We then use infrared positioning technology combined with a PID algorithm for precise alignment between the robot and the charging station. Simulation and practical tests demonstrate that the proposed method effectively resolves path planning and automatic alignment issues in the autonomous charging process for mobile robots.
