Simulation Research on Radiated Emission and Radiated Susceptibility of Shielded Twisted-pair Cable

The cable on missile used for energy transfer and information exchange is the nerve center of missile's devices. Due to the good anti-common interference capability, the shielded twisted structure is widely used by differential signal lines. Taking shielded twisted cable as the research object, the paper studies the radiated emission(RE) and radiated susceptibility(RS) from the perspective of field and circuit respectively. The simulation model was created by the finite element method in the first half of the article, threedimensional electromagnetic field distribution around the shielded twisted-pair cable was revealed, the relationship between shielding effectiveness, material and frequency was also analyzed. In the second half of the paper, the RS under 50kV/m electromagnetic pulse(EMP) interference of different kinds of cables was studied, the results show that shielded twisted-pair cable has a stronger ability to resist radiation interference than unshielded twisted-pair cable.
