An overview on big data analysis of large-scale pumped storage power plant equipment

Large-scale pumped storage power station equipment plays a crucial role in the electricity system and holds significant importance for energy storage and power dispatch. However, the reliability and performance maintenance of these equipment have always been a challenge in the power industry. To address these issues, real-time monitoring and analysis of the equipment's condition have become crucial. This review covers the status monitoring and analysis of large-scale pumped storage power station equipment, including hydraulic turbine condition monitoring, generator condition monitoring, governor system monitoring, excitation system monitoring, transformer equipment operational status monitoring, and GIS equipment investigation. Research in these areas provides strong support for performance optimization, fault prediction, and maintenance of power station equipment. In the future, with the continuous development of machine learning and big data technologies, the monitoring and analysis of power station equipment's condition will further improve, potentially enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the power system.
