Sliding Mode Control of a Combined Radiative Convective Drying Process

In this paper, we applied the sliding mode control technique for nonlinear system, notably combined convective radiative drying systems for slices of wet agricultural product. The dynamic mathematical model was studied by simulation and compared to experimental results for different convective and combined drying scenarios. The optimization of the combined drying process was carried out by a sliding mode control technique, the simulation results obtained show the effectiveness of this regulation technique for this type of drying operation.
