High-Misalignment Tolerance Wireless Charging System for Constant Voltage/Current Output Using Variable Structure Hybrid Topology

In view of the offset of the coupling mechanism and the use of constant current/constant voltage charging mode for lithium batteries in the electric vehicles wireless power transfer (EV-WPT) system, an EV-WPT system with constant current/constant voltage output and misalignment tolerant capability based on variable structure hybrid topology is proposed. The system combines CLC-S, S-CLC, and variable structure T-type compensation networks, and selects DDQ coils as the coupling mechanism. In order to improve the misalignment tolerant capability of the system under constant current/constant voltage operation mode, this paper designs the circuit parameters of the EV-WPT system and provides a design method for the system compensation parameters. Finally, a 1 kW experimental device is built to verify the correctness of the proposed theory and the superiority of the designed system performance.
