Torque Ripple Suppression of Dualstator Electric Machine based on Active Disturbance Rejection Control

Due to the unique dualstator structure of the dual-stator electric motor (DSEM), the machine exhibits significant advantages in power generation, including increased energy density and efficiency, enhanced reliability, and improved power quality. However, the nonlinear electromagnetic interactions between the two stators may cause substantial torque ripple, affecting operational stability and even bring harm to the connected power. To solve this problem, this paper employs a parallel control approach, leveraging the electrical constants of the two stators. In addition, an active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) algorithm is applied for the outer stator, while a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control algorithm compensates for dynamic errors in the inner stator, reducing torque ripples and speed fluctuations under load changes. The proposed method enhances the operational stability and disturbance resistance of the DSEM.
