A Study of Reliability of Low and Medium Voltage Distribution Networks Based on Fault Tree Theory

With the increasing complexity of low and medium voltage distribution network in recent years, its reliability is directly related to the stability and security of power supply, so a new research theory is needed to analyze the reliability and guide the reliable operation of low and medium voltage distribution network. In this study, firstly, the topology of distribution network was improved based on the medium and low voltage distribution network of a city and a model of medium and low voltage distribution network were constructed. Secondly, various common types of faults and influencing factors were considered, and construct a reliability analysis model based on fault tree theory. Finally, the simulation experiments were carried out and the MTBF of system, average failure rate and a series of indexes were analyzed based on the reliability analysis model of the fault tree theory. The reliability and validity of the model were verified based on the fault tree theory and simulation, which can provide an effective basis for the subsequent reliability analysis of urban power grids.
