Improvement in Quality of Power system using Custom Dynamic Voltage Restorer

Power quality issues, such as voltage sags, interruptions, and harmonics, pose significant challenges to modern electrical systems, leading to operational inefficiencies and equipment damage. Unlike conventional static compensation methods, CDVRs offer dynamic and precise control over voltage restoration, thereby ensuring optimal performance even in dynamic grid conditions. The conventional methods for voltage restoration often fail to address the dynamic nature of modern power systems, leading to inadequate protection against voltage disturbances. The integration of custom dynamic voltage restorer (CDVR) presents a promising avenue for improving the quality of power systems. This paper underscores the critical need for effective power quality enhancement strategies. Through their dynamic capabilities, adaptability, and efficiency, CDVRs offer a comprehensive solution to address the challenges posed by voltage fluctuations in modern electrical grids. The results show a significant improvement over the traditional methods by placing a custom dynamic voltage restorer (CDVR) that removes voltage sag, swell and harmonics. Every simulation in this paper is carried out using MATLAB/Simulink.
