CR-PPA: Connection Resilient Privacy Preserving Authentication for V2V Communications using VANET

Background: Typically, Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) rely on the use of public keys for communication authenticity verification and authorization. Reliability is a key problem for most state-of-the-art techniques that focus on encrypted communication in VANETs nowadays. The mentioned capabilities of safeguarding messages and ensuring authenticity are indeed possessed by these methods but not accomplished effectively. Methods: In this work, a Connection Resilient Privacy Preserving Authentication scheme for enabling vehicular communications using VANET is proposed. The primary goal of the proposed system is to provide an authentication system that will create a common secret key to be used for trustworthy interaction. This study also offers a defense against the compromise assault on the VANET components. Results: The simulation results verify that every piece of confidential data is safeguarded throughout the execution. Additionally, the suggested method performs better in terms of computation as well as communication expenses, as well as security aspects.
