Short circuit current zero crossing prediction method based on gated cycle unit

The phase-controlled breaking technology of circuit breaker is of great significance to shorten the fault duration, prolong the electrical life of the interrupter chamber and improve the breaking capacity of the circuit breaker. The difficulty of phase-controlled breaking short-circuit current is to accurately predict the zero crossing point of the short-circuit current. This paper proposes a Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) based fast prediction method for short circuit current zero. In order to verify the feasibility of the algorithm, an experimental platform for short circuit current zero pre diction is set up. Short circuit tests are conducted according to different harmonic components, fault phase Angle of short circuit current and frequency deviation of power grid. The waveform data under the influence of each parameter is obtained and the algorithm is used to predict. The results show that the prediction algorithm has a good capability of capturing the zero of short circuit current, which provides theoretical basis and technical support for the phased breaking technology of circuit breaker.
