Intelligent Charging system for Electric Vehicle Batteries

Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming increasingly popular as a means of transportation due to their low environmental impact and energy efficiency. However, the limited driving range and long charging time of EV batteries remain major challenges. In this paper, we propose a smart charger for EV batteries that utilizes advanced algorithms to optimize the charging process. The proposed smart charger takes into account various factors such as battery chemistry, temperature, state of charge, and charging infrastructure capacity to determine the optimal charging rate. It is also able to communicate with the grid to adjust the charging rate and take advantage of renewable energy sources when available. Moreover, the charger is equipped with safety features such as overvoltage and over-current protection to ensure the safety of both the EV and the charging infrastructure. The design and implementation of the smart charger are presented in detail, including the hardware and software components. The results of experimental testing show that the proposed smart charger is able to reduce the charging time of EV batteries while maintaining their performance and safety. The proposed smart charger has the potential to accelerate the adoption of EVs by addressing one of the major barriers to their widespread use.
