Monsoon Rainfall Prediction in Tamil Nadu Using Machine Learning: A Time Series Analysis

Crop cycle planning primarily relies on precise precipitation forecasts and the mitigation of disasters and other diverse environmental factors. Typically, precipitation patterns exhibit high variability, making it challenging to accurately forecast the specifics of future rainfall. In addition to these meteorological factors, the study also examines the impact of invasive alien species such as Prosopis Juliflora. This plant does not contribute to rainfall through evapo-transpiration and has a harmful effect on the environment. This research utilizes the Randomforest Regressor to estimate rainfall and examines the impact of Prosopis Juliflora on rainfall patterns. The presence of this tree leads to a decline in groundwater levels, resulting in significant implications for agriculture, industry, and sustained economic development. Comprehending the patterns and alterations in precipitation is crucial for addressing climate-related issues, and ensuring the availability and sustainable management of precipitation is vital for ensuring access to uncontaminated water.
