Abstract:

Deep learning, especially Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), have brought revolutions in various fields, by excelling in tasks like classification and object detection. This paper gives in view an approach, focused on grouping the images into two categories: cat (Felis) and dog (Canis). With the increase in the use of image classification in various domains such as object identification in satellite images, machine vision etc., this study aimed to explore varied neural layers in order to achieve accurate classification performance. This paper investigated the effectiveness of convolutional neural networks (an evolved version of artificial neural networks), and image augmentation in training models capable of distinguishing between cats and dogs accurately.
