Ranking of Institutes Using MCDM SAW Method Under Uncertainty

The combination of the Multiple Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method is designed under uncertainty which gives the pioneering approach for the ranking of educational institutes. This paper tries to overcome the inherent challenges associated with the evaluation of institutes. In doing so, it has integrated fuzzy logic or other uncertainty modeling approaches with SAW. Real-world data from institutes that represent diverse categories based on many criteria such as academic performance, faculty quality, infrastructure, and student satisfaction were used for validation. This brings out the effectiveness of the MCDM SAW method under uncertainty, and thus it gives the final ranking, where the Institute 5 scores the top position (Si = 2.473), then Institutes 3 (Si = 2.41), 1 (Si = 2.101), 2 (Si = 1.963), and 4 (Si = 1.51). This will assist in developing an informed decision-making process within the educational sector and provide stakeholders with a reliable tool for optimization in the quality assessments of the institutes.
