Revolutionizing Semiconductor Technology: A Comprehensive Review of FinFET

Theneedfor 3-Dimensional multiple-gate “MOSFETs”, such as “FinFETs”, has risen in recent years. FinFET is a Double Gated (DG) MOS device that provides good performance since it is less vulnerable to short channel impacts and can be manufactured using normal bulk planar CMOS techniques. FinFETs are generally simple to manufacture and do not suffer from the alignment issues that plague many other transistors. “Microcontrollers, integrated chips, signal processors, amplifiers, and sensors (such as temperature, motion, pressure, shock, proximity, sound, gas, and infrared)” that use FinFET technology provide improved technology for internet of things (IoT) applications. The primary goal of this review paper is to provide a well understanding of FinFET technology and its applications.
