Dual-Band Circular Microstrip Antenna Design for 5G Millimeter Wave Applications

This paper presents a customized microstrip patch antenna designed for 5G wireless communication systems, utilizing Ansys HFSS software for simulation and analysis. The antenna features a circular metallic patch on a Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 substrate with a low dielectric permittivity of 2.2, enhancing its performance characteristics. Compact in size at 5mm x 4mm x 0.035mm, the antenna resonates at 29GHz and 44.6GHz, crucial frequencies for millimeter-wave 5G networks. Demonstrating impressive gain and return loss, the antenna's efficiency in signal transmission is notable. Ansys HFSS software enables a thorough investigation of parameters such as S11, gain, and directivity, depicted through detailed 2D and 3D polar plots. This study aims to provide valuable insights into the antenna's effectiveness for 5G applications, contributing to advancements in wireless communication technologies.
