Identification of Counterfeit Goods by Implementing Blockchain Technology

Counterfeit goods refer to fraudulent or imitation products manufactured and distributed with the aim of misleading consumers into thinking they are acquiring genuine or authentic items. This research paper addresses the challenge of identifying counterfeit goods through the implementation of blockchain technology. Blockchain's inherent features of transparency, immutability, and decentralized consensus provide a robust foundation for building a secure and tamper- resistant system to trace and authenticate products throughout the supply chain. Regarding the idea implementation, a website has been established where the backend or product-related data is stored within the blockchain. Through this platform, administrators have the capability to input product details into the blockchain. Each product is assigned a unique block within the blockchain to accommodate all relevant information. Additionally, a distinctive QR code and product ID are affixed to each product. Customers can access the customer page of the same website to authenticate a product by either entering its Product ID or uploading the QR code. Upon inputting the Product ID or QR code, the website promptly indicates whether the product is genuine or counterfeit. If the product is registered within the blockchain, the website displays its information, confirming its legitimacy. Conversely, if the product is not found within the blockchain, the website identifies it as counterfeit.
