Design and Implementation of IOT Enabled Smart Energy Meter

Smart energy meters plays a key role in successful implementation smart grid. Smart meters effectively monitor and controls the power consumption which enables both consumers and system operators to participate in demand response. This paper proposes the design of IOT enabled smart energy meter which has a wider advantage than the traditional meter and can give the real time data about the power, units consumed, current, voltage frequency, power factor, fault status etc. and send it to the user through IOT, so that the user can also monitor and store the real time data in cloud platform, and the bill is generated by DISCOM's without visiting to the individual's home.
