Lake Water Contamination Level Monitoring Using Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROUV)

Water is an essential element of life. Pure water requirements are increasing daily, but due to contamination in water bodies, the water supply is not meeting requirements. Contamination of water is mainly due to the disposal of waste from industries and agriculture. The quality of water can be measured using the factors such as pH, Turbidity (NTU), Conductivity, Temperature, BOD, and COD. Therefore, there must be some technology to test the level of water quality in real-time. Using current technologies such as Robots (ROUV) and the Internet of Things which includes sensors, water quality monitoring can be done in real-time. In this paper, a Remotely operated underwater vehicle was developed to collect the water sample and measure its quality based on IoT. This model consists of a microcontroller, Arduino, and sensors that can measure the parameters of the water such as pH and Turbidity. The ROUV developed is controlled by using an android application that has customized Joystick. With the help of these sensors, the level of water quality can be measured and it is displayed to the user.
