Life Saving Helmet Under Hazardous Conditions

A smart helmet has been developed to address this problem; it can recognize harmful gases and automatically close the shield of the helmet which helps in rescuing the miner. The helmet has different sensors that can detect when it is taken off; if this occurs, a notification is sent to the control room. A panic button that activates in the event of an accident and sending a signal to the control room is installed. By offering real-time monitoring and risk identification, the use of this smart helmet in mining operations can considerably increase the safety of miners. The information which is collected from the sensors will be sent to the control room through wireless network. All sizes of mining companies can use it for low-cost communication. Additionally, the use of IR sensors and panic buttons can aid in accident prevention and enable quick action in case of emergencies. Operators can easily monitor the possible dangers and eventually the same is displayed on LCD panel in the control room.
