5G MIMO Antenna Design for Aerial Base Stations

A new metamaterial(MTM) based on a Split Ring Resonator (SRR) is prposed for 5G antenna operating at the 28 GHz frequency. The development of this SRR metamaterial aims to enhance the performance of 5G communication systems and enable their integration into swarm drone for Flying Base Stations (FBS) applications. The suggested antenna has a realized gain of more than 2 dBi for a single element across the frequency band 27.32 - 28.28 GHz and can acheive a directivity of 5.7 dbi at the same band.
