Simultaneous Measurement of Pressure and Shear Forces in Rehabilitation Cycling Using Integrated Microwave Sensor Technology

This paper presents a novel microwave sensor designed for the simultaneous measurement of pressure and shear forces in rehabilitation cycling applications. Traditional methods for assessing force dynamics in such scenarios often rely on separate sensors, leading to increased complexity and limited data integration. Our proposed sensor addresses these challenges by integrating both pressure and shear force measurement capabilities into one single device. By embedding this sensor technology into rehabilitation cycling systems, comprehensive insights into force distribution and biomechanical dynamics can be obtained. This paper discusses the design and development of the sensor, emphasizing its engineering principles and potential biomedical applications. We under-score the advantages of employing the proposed sensor for real-time monitoring and analysis, along with its promising potential for advancing the understanding and optimization of force dynamics in various medical and rehabilitation contexts.
