Analysis of Massive Open Online Public Art Courses : Based on Data from the Smart Education of China Higher Education

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have the capability to break through time and space constraints, providing high-quality educational resources to a wider audience and have become an education model widely accepted in the computer age. However, there has always been a significant amount of skepticism within the academic and educational communities regarding the online transformation of art courses, and there is a lack of understanding about the implementation of China's massive online open art courses on a global scale. This study, after analyzing 15 public art courses on the Smart Education of China Higher Education (SECHE) platform, has found that: (I)China's high-quality massive online art courses have a vast student body; (2) The teaching of China's high-quality massive online art courses has played a positive role in promoting educational equity and the mobility of teaching resources; (3)The management of massive online open course platforms established by the Chinese government needs to be more open and efficient.
