Database System Course Teaching Based on Goal Achievement Evaluation under Emerging Engineering Education

Teaching quality is the lifeline of the school development, and an objective and effective assessment of the teaching quality will greatly promote the courses' iterative improvement. The teaching assessment of traditional compulsory courses is mainly based on the final testing scores. Although some course reforms have realized a more comprehensive consideration of final tests and usual grades, these evaluation methods still have the problem of being difficult to directly match with the desired cultivation objectives of the courses. This study is oriented to the professional course of database system, which is started from the course teaching standards and the desired objectives. We designed a new mechanism for the evaluation of the teaching quality of the course, and carried out an analysis of the achievement of course objectives through the two dimensions of direct and indirect evaluation. Through the course performance and specific data of students of the most recent teaching practice, the course teaching was objectively evaluated, so as to obtain the objectives achievement at the level of classroom implementation, as well as helping to propose corresponding improvement measures for the subsequent course teaching. The evaluation mechanism proposed in this study breaks the traditional evaluation mode of course teaching quality, improves the closed loop of the whole teaching process, and embodies a certain degree of scientificity and feasibility.
