Automated Helmet with GPS Locator, Blind Spot and Impact Detection

Riders of motorcycles must take additional safety measures to safeguard their bodies. The most crucial place to begin is with head protection. In motorcycle accidents, the head and brain are most likely to sustain injuries. When drivers and passengers wear helmets, their chances of survival are significantly greater than when they do not. However, this does not guarantee the safety of its users and passengers because fatal injuries to the lower body may still occur even while wearing a helmet. The main objective of this research is to foster the creation and development of an automated motorcycle helmet with the ability to monitor and keep track of the helmet status in case of accidents occur to reduce the increasingly major public issue regarding motorcycle accidents. Microcontrollers are used to convert the analog signals such as vibrations produced on the helmet into digital signals for further processing. A camera is also placed to the upper body of the helmet to record and provide evidence in the event of a road accident. This project is an automated Helmet with GPS and GSM system to determine the exact location of a motorcycle helmet, Blind Spot to detect nearby vehicles and impact detection to detect whether an accident occurred with a mobile application for notifications and serves as the locator of the helmet's location using Google Maps.
