Humidity and Temperature Control System for Oyster Mushroom

With the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) in Agriculture, farmers have eliminated reliance on human resources. Oyster Mushroom, scientifically known as Pleurotus ostreatus, is a mushroom with many health benefits, including cancer-preventing, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. The design is an IoT-based device that will monitor the humidity and temperature for the cultivation of oyster mushrooms. The mushroom control and monitoring system are developed using an ATmega328P microprocessor, an ESP32 Wi-Fi module, and a DHT22 Sensor. To verify the functionality and accuracy of the system, the researchers conducted two types of tests. Results show that the average percentage error for temperature is

, while the average percentage error for humidity is

. The LED indicator turns
$ON$
as predicted. The water pump and fan are also turned on if the humidity is low or the temperature is high. Both control measures are activated at the same time if the humidity is low, and the temperature is high. With the following results, it can be concluded that the mushroom environment control measures are functional.
