A Software Management System Solution for Digitalization and Automation in Construction Sector

This paper introduces an innovative software system tailored for the construction industry, aiming to tackle crucial challenges in workforce management and payroll processing. The system harnesses modern technology to create a user-friendly solution that addresses two key aspects: the employment of geo-fencing technology to monitor the location of construction workers to ensure their presence at the worksite during designated hours and the automation of payroll processing not only through MySQL databases and PHP but also with timer functions in Android Studio through Kotlin and Windows application developed using WPF via C#. This comprehensive approach enhances accuracy and efficiency. The paper delves into the system's architecture, functionalities, and its successful real-world implementation within the targeted construction company, 93% of the user for the worker app were able to use this software and reported case of time log cheating has dropped by 66.7%, while the speed for payroll processing were reduced significantly at 300% in comparison to manual processing. By highlighting tangible outcomes, the researchers emphasize how technology-driven solutions in the construction sector can enhance productivity, cut costs, and improve project success.
