A genetic algorithm for meal delivery problem considering rider’s wage balance

Aiming at the imbalance of riders’ wages in the meal delivery problem, This paper studies the meal delivery problem considering the balance of riders’ wages, and comprehensively considers the platform delivery cost as well as the customer satisfaction. Then it constructs a joint optimization model of order allocation and route planning in meal delivery by minimizing the sum of the gap of riders’ wages, platform delivery cost and customer dissatisfaction. According to the characteristics of the problem, a heuristic algorithm based on the genetic algorithm framework is designed and combined with a variety of neighborhood operators to increase the search space to search for higher quality solutions. Finally, the effectiveness of the model and algorithm in this paper is validated by experiments. The research results provide decision support for rider order allocation as well as path planning for meal delivery problems.
