Stable truckload matching in the vehicle-cargo matching platform

In this paper we propose the applying of stable matching theory to vehicle-cargo matching (VCM) platform for truckload matching. Firstly, we filter the essential information into three stages respectively are the construction of primary vehicle capacity pool and cargo sources pool, optimal vehicle capacity pool and cargo sources pool, as well as the ranking of preferred carriers’ vehicles by shippers and the preferred shippers’ cargoes by carriers. Then we put forward a stable matching model of VCM platform to maximize the total matching degree between carriers and shippers. Finally, we illustrate the influence of stable matching on VCM platform in different market scale. The results show that the application of the stable matching theory can improve the actual total matching degree of the platform, and the influence of the stable matching theory on the total matching degree of the platform becomes more obvious with the increase of the market scale.
