Navigation radar image fusion of different scales based on improved wavelet transform rules

Due to the disadvantages of the image fusion system such as unclear target contour of long-range radar image, insufficient perceptual range of near-range radar image and insufficient detail of traditional wavelet transform fusion rules for processing high frequency coefficients, the fused images cannot meet the requirements of large information volume, high definition and small discrepancy. To solve this problem, the maximum Brenner region energy wavelet transform image fusion (MBREWTIF) algorithm is proposed, Firstly, the alignment of the two radar images is realized to prepare for the next step of algorithmic fusion. Secondly, an improved fusion rule for high frequency coefficients is devised based on the wavelet transform image fusion algorithm. Finally, the Brenner region energy method is developed by combining the energy gradient of the Brenner function method and the improved fusion weight in the region energy method. The simulation results verify that the proposed MBREWTIF algorithm improves the content and clarity of image information and reduces the discrepancy in the dual radar fusion process compared with other existing algorithms.
