Optimization of Hydrogen Containing Integrated Energy System Operation Considering Demand Response and Ladder-type Carbon Trading

The coastal refining and chemical industrial park possesses ample resources for renewable energy power generation, exhibits a consistent need for concentrated hydrogen, and demonstrates a high level of energy coupling. Consequently, it exhibits significant potential for demand response. This paper presents a novel optimization approach for managing the operation of a integrated energy system that incorporates hydrogen, taking into account complete demand response and ladder-type carbon trading. The proposed method aims to address the hydrogen demand and carbon reduction requirements of a comprehensive industrial park. To begin, it is important to develop a prototypical energy system model for coastal refining and chemical industrial parks. Furthermore, it is important to examine the methods by which the parks engage in carbon trading and implement a hierarchical model for carbon trading mechanisms. Thirdly, considering the price elasticity factor and the incentive effect of subsidies, a integrated demand response model for the park is established. Subsequently, the economic operation objective incorporates the carbon quota transaction cost and park demand response cost. The CPLEX solver is employed to solve the model and derive the economic operation outcomes of the system. In this study, a numerical analysis was performed to validate the economic and low-carbon characteristics of the optimization outcomes, using a coastal chemical park located in eastern China as a case study.
