A Novel Bi-stage Adaptive Search-Scale Algorithm for Continuous Optimization

This paper proposed a Bi-stage Adaptive Search-scale Algorithm (BASA). Some new mechanisms of search strategy, select strategy, and adaptive search-scale strategy were designed to improve the optimization performance of BASA, especially the ability to jump out of the local optimal solution. To evaluate the optimization performance of BASA, not only BASA but also 9 other algorithms are tested on 6 baseline test functions, whose results are used to compare with BASA, and analyzed the results from the perspectives of search speed and accuracy, verified the advantages of the BASA in solving continuous optimization problems.
