Region Selective Stereo Vision

This letter presents a novel approach to stereo vision by integrating monocular motions into a region-selective stereo system, enhancing depth accuracy through motion detection and online calibration. Using power spectral entropy, the system based on detected camera movements dynamically recalibrates using online calibration when necessary. Therefore, the motion is based on finding the optimal angles between the cameras to maximize the depth of the center of the tracked ball. Despite the servo and camera resolution effects, the our region selective stereo setup outperformed the Intel Real Sense camera in terms of depth with a larger baseline.
