Maintenance Evaluation of Power Grid Fault Equipment Based on Random Forest

Accurate maintenance evaluation of power grid fault equipment can effectively improve product quality and reduce resource waste. In this paper, a maintenance evaluation method for power system fault equipment based on random forest algorithm is proposed. First of all, by analyzing the fault factors of power grid equipment, a state system of equipment fault quantity including 22 state quantities is constructed. Secondly , the decision tree combination model of power grid fault equipment evaluation is constructed based on the random forest algorithm. Finally, by optimizing the number of decision trees and random characteristic variables, the classification performance and calculation efficiency of the random forest algorithm are improved, and multiple indicators are defined to evaluate the algorithm model. Taking the fault data of a certain type of relay protection equipment in recent five years for example analysis, the original data is cleaned and the dummy variable is processed, and then the input algorithm is used to obtain the evaluation model. The index analysis results show that the prediction accuracy and precision of the algorithm model constructed in this paper can reach more than 96%, effectively supporting the equipment manufacturers to formulate maintenance strategies and reserve spare parts.
