Study on Self-Healing RTV Composite Coating Material and Its Properties for Antifouling Flashover of High-Voltage Insulators

High-voltage insulators are prone to deterioration during operation caused by contaminants such as dirt, moisture, radiation, and other factors. This deterioration leads to surface flashover issues that can be effectively mitigated by RTV coatings. However, over time, the RTV coating may undergo aging damage due to environmental stress and other factors, resulting in a reduced service life. Therefore, enhancing the anti-aging performance of RTV coatings and prolonging their service life is crucial for ensuring the long-term stability of high-voltage insulators. In this study, a one-component microcapsule self-healing RTV composite coating structure is proposed. When the microcapsule doping mass fraction is below 2 %, the resulting composite coating exhibits favorable mechanical properties without compromising its dielectric properties. This innovative design enables in situ, active, unsupervised self-repair of physical damage, effectively extending the service life of the RTV coating.
