A Short-Circuit Current Analysis Method for Whole Fault Ride-Through Process of Full-Power Wind Turbines

The calculation of short-circuit current throughout the fault ride-through process of wind turbines offers a critical foundation for the analysis, control, and protection strategies concerning their large-scale integration into the system. Utilizing the manufacturer's black-box model of a full-power wind turbine, this study meticulously examines the dynamic behavior of the short-circuit current throughout the entire fault ride-through process. It refines the segmentation approach based on a linear criterion and deduces the transient behavior of the short-circuit current. Consequently, it proposes an analytical method for calculating the short-circuit current throughout the fault ride-through process. By comparing the calculated short-circuit current results throughout the fault ride-through process with the test results from the manufacturer's black-box model, this paper substantiates the validity of its proposed method for analyzing the short-circuit current during the entire fault ride-through process in full-power wind turbines.
