Development status and technical challenges of new low-carbon technologies for power systems under the dual-carbon goal

Establishing a new power system is the key method to achieve the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. The carbon emission characteristics of the power system have also changed significantly with the changes in the energy structure and system form. Accurately assessing low-carbon properties is of great significance for the planning and operation of the new power system. The paper analyzed the development bottlenecks of domestic low-carbon technologies of electric power and studied the basic theory and key technologies of electro-carbon association in new power system. The demand analysis and technical layout suggestions were given in terms of new power system carbon emission reduction methodology, carbon assessment technology, and new power system carbon reduction technology. It will further provide theoretical basis and technical support for the low-carbon construction operation and maintenance of the new power system.
