Review of Research on Demand-Side Resource Participation in Electricity Markets under the New Power System

Once power development has advanced to a new level, demand-side resources offer a fresh approach to user-side power supply and demand balancing. The traditional power system has to increase its ability to respond to demand by creating an ideal response mechanism and mode. Demand-side resources have a great deal of adjustable potential, but it does not give them enough consideration or attention. To better stimulate demand-side resource participation in the energy market, this article first analyzes the subsidy contents, access subjects, and funding sources of demand response policies in typical demand response market locations. It then reviews the policies and development status of typical provinces and cities in the auxiliary service market. Finally, it offers pertinent recommendations and outlooks based on Chinese national conditions.
